Q: How long have you been doing hair?
Ella: I’ve been doing hair since I graduated high school in June of 2022!
Q: Where did you start your career?
Ella: I started my career at Karina’s Salon in Carytown.
Q: What made you want to become a hairstylist?
Ella: I wanted to become a stylist because growing up my mom would always cut me and my siblings hair and highlight mine with foils and everything! But I have always loved all things beauty. I was always practicing hair and makeup in my room growing up!
Q: What’s your favorite hairstyle or haircut of all time and why?
Ella: My favorite haircut is definitely the Jennifer Aniston haircut. It’s a style that a lot of my guests request! The longer layers with about medium length. I also love just taking dead ends off, makes my guests feel so fresh with their hair with keeping the majority of their length.
Q: What’s your favorite aspect of being a hairstylist?
Ella: My favorite aspect of being a hairstylist is definitely the environment. I love chatting with my guests about everything and making them feel beautiful! And I can’t forget about my awesome coworkers, I also love talking it up with them when we have downtime, and also lending a helping hand to each other when needed!
Q: What brought you to PRISM Hair in Richmond, Virginia?
Ella: What brought me to PRISM Hair is one of my best friends Linda. She referred me to our owner Brittany and I couldn’t be happier she did! PRISM Hair in Richmond, Virginia is where I started taking more guests and opening up my books more!
Q: Are you working on anything exciting in 2024?
Ella: I am working on getting more education! I’m definitely going to be including hair extensions to my skills so stay tuned for that. Working on building the amount of guests who see me, I’m just praying for a happy year with the best team!
Q: What’s the hair tool that you can’t live without?
Ella: Oh my gosh. I could NOT live without my blow dryer. I am always going to blow dry my guests, even when there's a time crunch!
Q: What advice do you give your guests for their hair/hair routine?
Ella: My advice to everyone is to always shampoo twice when you’re washing your hair. That first shampoo is going to get all of that build up off of your scalp. The second one will actually work on getting all of your strands clean. This will change the game!
Q: What’s the best hair advice you’ve ever been given?
Ella: The best hair advice I have ever received is to always use a leave-in conditioner and hair oil!
